MLA Italian Beef Bake

A great one for the family! Aussie ground beef with bacon and mozzarella? Yum!


1 ¼ pounds ground beef
½ cup dried breadcrumbs
¼ cup sun dried tomato pesto
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
4 baby mozzarella balls
¼ cup baby spinach leaves
4 long strips streaky bacon, rindless


Delicious beef parcels in individual servings make entertaining a breeze!

Preheat fan-forced* oven to 350°F.

Combine beef, breadcrumbs, pesto and oregano. Form into 4 large flat patties.

Top center of each patty with spinach and bocconcini. Bring sides up to fully enclose filling. Roll into a ball.

Wrap with a strip of bacon around circumference of ball, securing ends underneath.

Place beef bakes on baking tray lined with baking paper. Cook for 30 minutes until bacon is crispy and beef is cooked through.

*Note: if using a conventional oven, you may need to increase temperature or allow additional cooking time.

To Serve: Serve with oven roasted tomatoes and extra baby spinach.
