Aussie Beef pairs perfectly with Korean flavors in this classic Bulgogi recipe!

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 whole, large white onion (cut in half)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onion
  • 2 ½ tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced

Method

1. Cut Flank slices into thirds (about 6cm average length) and place in mixing bowl

2. Into the mixing bowl, grate the white onion over the meat and mix into the meat by hand

3. Mix in Sugar, Sesame Oil and Ground Pepper and let sit for 10 minutes

4. Add chopped garlic into the soy sauce and add to mixture carefully folding in to coat all the meat (reserve 2 tablespoons for the final seasoning to taste)

5. Add chopped green onions and mix

6. Set skillet or frying pan to high heat and add vegetable oil

7. Once the oil starts to lightly smoke, add small amounts of meat to the pan

8. Garnish with Sesame Oil and serve

Cooking Tip: Do not crowd the pan with too much meat at one time. This will boil the meat and you will not get the desired sear.
